The Paducah Fire Department raised $2,055 during Friday's Firehouse Chili event to support the United Way.
The community was invited to enjoy a chili meal at Paducah Fire Station No. 1 to support the United Way of Paducah-McCracken County.
Paducah Firefighters cooked the chili and helped serve, while department heads provided funds to purchase supplies. In addition, several businesses showed their support by donating food, supplies, or funds.
Leftover chili was donated to guests at Paducah's warming center at Washington Street Baptist Church.
City of Paducah employees raise approximately $10,000 annually for the United Way through fundraising events and employee paycheck contributions. In 2019, firehouse chili raised $1,700.
