The state of Kentucky has plans for another round of EV charging stations to be built along Kentucky’s interstates and parkways, including one in Paducah.

During his Team Kentucky update on Thursday, Gov. Beshear announced a new round of federal funding for six developers to build 11 more fast-charging stations across the Commonwealth, which would bring the state’s total to 48 stations through 11 developers, with a value north of $32 million.

Two of the eleven new charging stations awarded include Paducah and Oak Grove.

According to the state's website, KY EV Charging.com , the following applications have been awarded funding in western Kentucky:

Calvert City - Love's Travel Center
Dawson Springs - Ideal Market
Hopkinsville - Starbucks
Mayfield - Wagner Wine and Spirits
Oak Grove - Flying J
Paducah - Pilot Travel Center

No timetable has been set for the completion of any of the western Kentucky sites. In mid-September, the governor cut the ribbon on the state's first completed charging station, located in Richmond.

In total, $70 million in funding is expected over five years for the program which has a goal of an EV charging station in place every 50 miles of Kentucky interstates and parkways.
