On Tuesday, Marshall County Judge Executive Kevin Spraggs issued a burn ban in the county until further notice.
Weather forecasts are indicating a prolonged dry period, leading to the executive order.
In Kentucky, the only other active burn bans are at the eastern end of the state. However, it is officially the spring forest fire hazard season in Kentucky until April 30.
During fire hazard seasons, it is illegal to burn anything within 150 feet of any woodland or brushland between the hours of 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
In southern Illinois, a burn ban was issued in Pulaski County on Monday.
