Wanted Paducah woman arrested Thursday on drug trafficking charges

A woman wanted on drug trafficking charges was arrested this morning outside of the McCracken County Courthouse.

Paducah Police said 57-year-old Sheila A. "Annie" Shumpert was arrested Thursday morning outside the McCracken County Courthouse. Police said officers recognized Shumpert, who was sitting in a car on Clarence Gaines Street in front of the courthouse.  

She was indicted on four counts of trafficking a controlled substance on November 4th.  The charges against her stem from a now 20-month-long investigation into the illegal sale of fentanyl in Paducah.  

Twenty-three people were charged with various drug offenses in September, and the investigation has been continuing since.
