On Thursday it was announced that Paducah and Louisville Railway was awarded $2 million for the renewal of its Princeton railroad yard.
The funding is sourced from the Kentucky Short Line Infrastructure Preservation Program, and part of a $7.5 million investment for eight railway projects across the state.
The project will involve replacing outmoded switching ladders, reconnecting three tracks to the ladders and reestablishing track access through the existing maintenance-of-way shop building. The project will also replace outdated rails and ties in poor condition and improve drainage in the yard.
