No one was reported to be injured when a vacant motel in southern Illinois burned down on Monday night.
The fire was in Pulaski County along I-57 at the Ullin exit, where the former America's Best Inn was fully involved when fire crews arrived.
The structure was said to be a total loss. The cause of the fire is unknown, and the state fire marshal's office was investigating on Tuesday.
Ten other area fire departments helped the Ullin Fire Department battle the blaze through the night.
