Victims of last year's devastating tornadoes in Caldwell County have a deadline coming up in October to apply for a share in donations received by the county's Long Term Recovery Group.

The Caldwell County Fiscal Court reminds affected residents to pick up the application form at Princeton City Hall, and turn it in by October 17 to be eligible for a share of the donations.

The money received by the group totals about $800,000. It came from grants and donations from the Community Foundation of West Kentucky and the Team Western Kentucky Tornado Relief Fund.

Caldwell County residents whose home was within a quarter mile of the tornado path, and suffered more than $20,000 in damage are eligible for the funds.

According to the group's Facebook page, the maximum amount an individual can receive is four thousand dollars. However, if a larger number of qualified applications come in than first anticipated, that amount will be reduced to whatever can be distributed in equal shares to all who apply.

A copy of the form is also available here.
