A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held Friday for a new aircraft maintenance technology program to begin at West Kentucky Community and Technical College.
Officials from Barkley Regional Airport, WKCTC, state legislators and community leaders gathered to mark the milestone made possible through $2.3 million in Kentucky legislative funding. The program will prepare students for careers inspecting, maintaining and repairing aircraft, with annual earnings of approximately $70,000.
With approval from the Federal Aviation Administration, WKCTC will prepare to welcome the first students into the program in the spring semester.
