Murray State University's Board of Regents announced Wednesday the new nursing building will be named for retiring president Dr. Bob Jackson and his wife Karen.

Construction is underway on Jackson Hall with the facility to open in the summer of 2026.

Dr. Jackson has been the school's president since 2018 and will retire in June.  Mrs. Jackson is a second generation Murray State graduate, earning a bachelor's degree in nursing.

Her years of clinical focus were pediatrics and intensive care nursing.  She has remained an active alumna of her sorority, Alpha Sigma Alpha, serving on their advisory board for 30 years.
