Murray pair arrested for murder of 17-month-old

A Murray pair has been charged with murder in the death of a 17-month-old girl.

Murray Police were called at about 5 pm to Murray Calloway County Hospital's Emergency Department where doctors were treating "an unresponsive 17-month-old female with signs of possible physical abuse." The child later died. 

Police later arrested 24-year-old Chyanne Niemeyer and 20-year-old Nathaniel Gibson, both of Murray, and charged the pair with murder and first-degree criminal abuse.

The investigation is continuing and police said that no further details can be released at this time.
