Murray man charged with attempted murder

A woman was shot and a Murray man charged with attempted murder on Sunday in Murray.

At 12:47 a.m. police responded reports of a shooting at the 400 block of South 9th Street. Officers located a female victim who had gunshot injuries to her legs. She was transported to the Murray Calloway County Hospital. 

Investigators identified a suspect, who was later stopped in Riviera Courts and taken into custody.

Thirty-five-year-old Michael Wayson was arrested and charged with three counts of attempted murder, wanton endangerment, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon and tampering with physical evidence.
