Murray could become a regional hub for pickleball players in the near future.

City officials have donated land inside Chestnut Park at the corner of North 8th and Payne Streets to the Murray Pickleball Association. A GoFundMe account has been started to build a pickleball complex on the land.

The overall goal for construction of the facility is $1.8 million. The association said it has already raised over $600,000 through corporate and individual donations.

The group's goal is to create a premiere facility for the 4 state region, to bring players and tourism to Murray via regional tournaments and clinics.

All money raised will go directly to the construction of the complex.
