Murder investigation underway in Marshall County

A murder investigation is underway in Marshall County after Benton Police called in KSP.

Kentucky State Police investigators were called in after the body of 49-year-old Lia Thompson of Benton was found dead in her home. The preliminary report said that Thompson was found just before 2 p.m. on Wednesday and that her injuries pointed toward foul play. Detectives are handling the investigation as a homicide.
