Multiple people have been charged following a string of burglaries at a McCracken County storage facility.
The McCracken County Sheriff's Office said they began to investigate the burglaries that occurred at a facility on Tharp Dr. Detectives were able to use surveillance equipment in the hour and on September 16th noticed the equipment had been recently tampered with and that two men on bicycles were seen in the area just prior.
Deputies arrived on scene and said they noticed an SUV with two bicycles strapped on the roof leaving the area. They conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle which was occupied by 36-year Joshua Owen and 53-year-old Christopher Young.
During the stop, other deputies went to the area of the storage units and noticed multiple locks had been cut and items had been placed outside of the units. They said they obtained video of Young and Owens on bicycles equipped with items commonly utilized in burglaries. Ultimately, both were arrested on multiple charges.
As the investigation continued, detectives and deputies executed a search warrant at Owen's residence on the 3200 block of Lorine Ln in Paducah. Detectives located 36-year-old Joseph Abbott of Paducah. They said Abbott had two outstanding warrants for his arrest. He was taken into custody on the scene.
While searching the home, detectives said they found quantity of methamphetamine and other drugs. Detectives also said they were able to find several items that were connected to the previous storage unit burglaries.
Deputies later located 37-year-old Natasha Gill of Paducah. She was placed under arrest for her possession of the narcotics located at the residence.
