Andrea Moore has defeated James T. "Jamie" Jameson to become the new Circuit Court Judge for Marshall and Calloway counties.

Moore defeated Jameson with 11,277 votes to Jameson's 9,494.

Jameson actually won Calloway County with 5,155 votes to Moore's 4,879, but Moore took 60% of the vote in Marshall Couty to carry her to victory.

Jameson was still on the ballot in spite of a recent ruling from the Judicial Conduct Commission that Jameson had engaged in conduct that violated Rules of the Judicial Canons.

Jameson was accused of seven counts of judicial misconduct and found guilty on all seven charges last week.

The Commission ordered Jameson removed from the bench for the balance of this term. The commission also stated that his "unfitness" disqualifies him from seeking re-election.

The commission further said they believe they have a legal case to prevent Jameson from serving in any future judicial capacity.

The ruling does not go into effect for 10 days and in a post on his campaign Facebook page Jameson said he would appeal the ruling to the Kentucky Supreme Court. Once the appeal is made the ruling will not go into effect until the Supreme Court issues an opinion on the appeal. This allowed Jameson to remain on the ballot and continue to seek re-election.

Votes for Jameson in Tuesday's election were still counted, however, if Jameson had been re-elected, it's likely that a vacancy would have been deemed to exist and Gov. Andy Beshear would have had to appoint a replacement.
