A fugitive considered dangerous by law enforcement was arrested in Graves County on Thursday.
Several law enforcement agencies, including the Graves County Sheriff's Office, were searching for 49-year-old Demetry Walker at a home on McKenzie Circle.
After escorting area residents out of their homes for their safety, law enforcement ordered Walker to leave his home. After a few minutes, Walker surrendered to law enforcement, and he was taken into custody without incident.
Deputies say Walker was wanted out of St. Louis County, Missouri, for four counts of unlawful possession of a firearm by a dangerous felon. Authorities also learned Walker had an active warrant for his arrest after he was cited to Graves District Court for marijuana and drug paraphernalia possession in 2020 and failed to appear.
After his arrest, a search of his home reportedly uncovered ecstasy pills, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.
Walker was served with the arrest warrant and additionally charged with trafficking in a controlled substance, marijuana possession, drug paraphernalia, and being a fugitive from another state.
He was taken to the Graves County Jail.
