The man convicted in the Heath High School shooting in 1997 is coming up for parole.
Michael Carneal was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole for 25 years. Those 25 years have passed and this is his first opportunity to come before the board.
Victims and their families have received letters from the Kentucky Parole Board announcing the hearing. Families will get an opportunity to address the board via Zoom on September 19th. Anyone else that would like to submit comments to the parole board can do so in written form. Those statements can be sent by mail to:
Kentucky Parole Board
P.O. Box 2400
Frankfort, KY 40602
Comments can also be emailed to JusCorParoleBoard@ky.gov.
Carneal will face the board on September 20th at 8 a.m. CDT.
