A Metropolis man found passed out in his car inside a park was arrested last week on drug charges.

While on patrol late last Monday, Metropolis Police spotted a car parked in Dorothy Miller Park. Since the park was closed, they went to investigate and found 38-year-old John C. Krempasky asleep inside. An officer woke Krempasky up but is said to have been able to smell marijuana in the vehicle. The officer asked Krempasky about the odor and he reportedly handed over a clear bag with cannabis in it. A more thorough search of the vehicle allegedly located nine more baggies along with methamphetamine.  

Krempasky was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and meth, He was taken to the Massac County Detention Center.
