Metropolis man arrested following incident with ex-wife

A Metropolis man was arrested Saturday following a domestic incident at an apartment on Lois Lane.

Metropolis Police said the victim stated her ex-husband 38-year-old David M. Littlemeyer was beating on her door and had been previously trespassed from the property. 

Police found Littlemeyer in the parking lot and said he immediately became belligerent with the officers. Littlemeyer was advised he was under arrest and allegedly resisted. Once in custody he reportedly continued to fight with officers trying to get him into the squad car for transport. 

Police said he refused to get out of the squad car at the Massac County Detention Center and had to be removed and taken into the booking area. 

Littlemeyer was charged with criminal trespass to property and resisting arrest.
