Mercy Health—Kentucky is pleased to announce the finalization of an agreement to acquire the Orthopedic Institute of Western Kentucky in Paducah.

The acquisition marked a significant milestone for both organizations, bringing together the expertise and resources of two leading health care providers in the Paducah region.

The Orthopedic Institute of Western Kentucky, newly named Mercy Health – Western Kentucky Orthopedic Center has long been recognized for its exceptional orthopedic care, providing comprehensive services to patients in the area.

By joining forces with Mercy Health—Lourdes Hospital, the institute further enhances its capabilities and expands its reach, ultimately benefiting the patients it serves.

The acquisition represents a commitment to delivering patient-centered care to the Paducah community.

Mercy Health is well known for its compassionate approach to health care, and the addition of the former Orthopedic Institute of Western Kentucky will only strengthen this commitment.

By unifying the expertise of both teams, patients can expect an even higher level of care and access to a broader range of services, including orthopedics, surgery, imaging, rehab and therapy.

Mike Yungmann, President of Mercy Health, Kentucky said: "The acquisition aligns with our mission to provide exceptional care to the communities we serve. We eagerly welcome the seven incredible physicians, nine physician assistants, and nurse practitioners to our team. By combining our resources and expertise, we now offer an even more comprehensive orthopedic program to the patients of the Paducah region."

Mercy Health – Western Kentucky Orthopedic Center is committed to continuing a smooth transition and ensuring uninterrupted patient care during this process.

The organizations are working closely together to seamlessly integrate operations, systems, and methods to provide a seamless experience for patients.

New and existing patients will now benefit from integrating Mercy Health's advanced technologies, specialized services, and extensive network of health care professionals.
