A traffic stop of a motorcycle Saturday afternoon on Yarbro Lane led to two arrests.

The McCracken County Sheriff's Department says the stop was made around 3:45 pm.

During the investigation, deputies discovered the operator, 31-year-old Troy C. Cowart, of Kevil, allegedly had marijuana and drug paraphernalia in his possession.

In addition, deputies found that Cowart has a DUI suspended operator's license, and is currently on probation for a prior drug charge.

A passenger, 26-year-old James G. Bates-Walls, of Golconda, allegedly was in possession of crystal methamphetamine, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.

Deputies also discovered that Bates-Walls was wanted on an arrest warrant out of Illinois for failing to appear on a prior methamphetamine related charge.

Bates-Walls was served with the warrant, and is awaiting extradition back to Illinois.

Both Cowart and Bates-Walls were arrested and taken to the McCracken County Regional Jail.
