More details released in Vienna armed robbery

SUNDAY UPDATE:
Police are still searching for suspects in an armed robbery at a Vienna dollar store on Thursday.

As of Saturday afternoon, police were still seeking information two suspects. One male entered the store, reportedly shoved a customer, pulled a razor-type knife and demanded cash. 

The other suspect was the driver of a 2022-2024 Jeep Compass used to leave the scene. The Jeep is crystal metallic grey in color. On the rear glass the vehicle had a decal resembling Kansas City Chiefs logo. 

Police advise not to approach the suspect, at least one of which is still considered to be armed and dangerous.

If you know identity or whereabouts of the suspects, or have more video footage in the neighborhood of the robbery, you are asked to contact the Vienna Police Department.


FRIDAY UPDATE:
On Friday, the Vienna Police Department released newly obtained images from video surveillance concerning the armed robbery at a dollar store on Thursday.

Police posted that a 2022-2024 Jeep Compass was used in the robbery. The Jeep is crystal metallic grey in color. On the rear glass the vehicle had a decal resembling Kansas City Chiefs logo. 

If you know who owns this vehicle, you're asked to notify the Vienna Police Department.


ORIGINAL STORY:
Authorities in southern Illinois are investigating an armed robbery that occurred at a Vienna dollar store on Thursday.

The Vienna Police Department, Johnson County Sheriff’s Office and the Illinois State Police all responded to the robbery at the Vienna Family Dollar.

Vienna Police said the suspect was armed, but no one was injured.

Police have video footage from the store's cameras as well as from other nearby locations.

Police advise not to approach the suspect, he is still considered to be armed and dangerous.
