The McCracken County Sheriff's Office is looking for an alleged drug trafficker who fled from an attempted traffic stop.

Deputies tried to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation on Thursday along Clark's River Road. The driver, identified as 28-year-old Malik J. Watson, saw the deputies, drove into a parking lot, and bailed out of the car. Watson reportedly slipped away leaving his vehicle behind.

A search of Watson's vehicle is said to have uncovered drugs and drug paraphernalia. Warrants have been issued for Watson, who is believed to be in either McCracken or Livingston County. He is charged with trafficking in marijuana, fleeing or evading police on foot, no license, and traffic violations.

Authorities said that Watson is also under indictment in two other cases with charges that include trafficking in fentanyl and marijuana, fleeing or evading police in a vehicle, wanton endangerment of a police officer, and tampering with physical evidence.

Anyone with information as to the whereabouts of Watson is asked to contact the McCracken County Sheriff's Office or leave an anonymous tip through West Kentucky Crime Stoppers.
