The McCracken County Sheriff's Office responded to storm damage areas around the county overnight.
The Sheriff's Office said deputies were staged around the county in an attempt to be able to quickly respond to any storm related incidents. After the initial suspected tornado traveled past the western most part of the county, deputies immediately began to look for storm damage and for any victims of the storm.
Several agencies came together during the aftermath of the storm including county road department employees, Kentucky Fish and Wildlife, Kentucky State Police, and County Fire Departments. They all worked to clear roadways of trees and other debris. Multiple utility poles were snapped as well and Jackson Purchase responded to assist.
The Sheriff's Office said damage included mainly downed trees throughout the county. The West McCracken area, specifically Childress Road, Fisher Road, and Harris Road areas, is where most of the damage was concentrated.
The Sheriff's Office said their patrols to survey for damage will continue today. They ask the public to be careful as you drive as some roads may still have trees partially over the roadway or may have gone unnoticed.
