On Monday evening County Clerk Julie Griggs gave an update on the primary election to the McCracken County Fiscal Court.
Griggs said it was another successful election, with 9,609 ballots cast for about a 17 percent turnout. She said about 900 people took advantage of the three-day no-excuse absentee voting.
She said the turnout was not great, but it's typical of a primary. There were a few "hiccups," Griggs said, when it came to voting locations, due to the redistricting of State Representative District 6.
"I want people to know we don't just do this stuff just because there are reasons that we have to do that," said Griggs.
She and her office hope to have all the kinks worked out for the general election in November.
