A Mayfield woman was arrested after a disturbance at a home and an assault on a firefighter.

Mayfield Police were called after the woman allegedly caused some property damage at the home on South 5th Street. The woman left before police arrived. Officers found 38-year-old Gina Stubblefield walking along South Paris Road, but as they approached, she fled.

A struggle ensued with an officer as she was arrested. Stubblefield reportedly showed signs of impairment from something other than alcohol. EMS tried to get Stubblefield onto a stretcher for a trip to Jackson Purchase Medical Center because of her level of intoxication. She is said to have resisted, even kicking a firefighter in the face. He suffered minor injuries.

Once Stubblefield was medically cleared, she was taken to the Graves County Restricted Custody Center and charged with assault, disorderly conduct, fleeing or evading police, and public intoxication.
