Mayfield post office reopening ceremony set for Thursday

The Mayfield post office will hold its grand re-opening ceremony and install its postmaster on Thursday.

The public is invited to the ceremony to be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at the post office at 225 West Broadway.

The post office was one of many downtown buildings damaged or destroyed in the 2021 tornado. During repairs, temporary locations were used, first in Hickory, then on Paris Road by the spring of 2022. The rebuild at the original location was completed last November.

Tabitha Tucker will be sworn in as the 12th postmaster of Mayfield during the ceremony.
