Brookport bridge back open after trailer flips

The Brookport Bridge is back open after a trailer flipped in the roadway on Thursday night.

According to the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched after 8 p.m. to what was initially thought of as a collision on the bridge.

After speaking with witnesses, it was determined that a vehicle traveling across the bridge was pulling a trailer when the trailer broke and flipped in the roadway.

The vehicle pulling the trailer continued without stopping.

The trailer and its contents were cleaned up from the roadway and the Brookport Bridge reopened about an hour later.
