A traffic stop turned into a meth arrest for a Mayfield man on Thursday night.

The Graves County Sheriff's Office said they stopped 57-year-old David Sean Williams near the intersection of KY 80 and KY 303.

A K-9 from the Marshall County Sheriff's Office allegedly alerted to the presence of narcotics coming from Williams' vehicle. Williams reportedly told deputies prior to the search that he had crystal methamphetamine in his glove compartment.

Deputies said they found 84 grams of crystal meth as well as money suspected as being the proceeds of illegal drug sales.

Williams was charged with trafficking in a controlled substance, and other offenses. He was transported and lodged at an out-of-county detention center.
