A crash in Mayfield Tuesday sent four people to the hospital, one of those with serious injuries.

The crash happened at the intersection of Douthitt Street and the Dick Castleman Bypass next to the Mayfield Police Department. Police said a car driven by a juvenile was hit in the driver's door by a pickup truck. The truck, driven by 28-year-old Matthew Dowdy of Mayfield, was traveling along the bypass as the car tried to turn left off Douthitt. Dowdy and his passenger, 78-year-old Shirley Tynes of Mayfield, and the juvenile passenger in the other car were all taken to Jackson Purchase Medical Center for treatment.

The female juvenile driver was flown to an out-of-state hospital for treatment of her injuries.
