A Marshall County man died on Saturday after a collision involving a side-by-side UTV and a car.

The crash occurred on Saturday along US 62 in Possum Trot, in front of the Dollar General store. Marshall County Coroner Kenny Pratt told West Kentucky Star that 67-year-old Jeff Story died after the side-by-side he was driving was struck by a car.

The preliminary investigation done by the Kentucky State Police said that Story’s UTV was leaving a parking lot and entered US 62 into the path of an eastbound car driven by 53-year-old Robin Walker of Paducah. Story was ejected from the UTV as it overturned. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Walker was unhurt.

Pratt said an autopsy was performed on Story Sunday.

The crash is still under investigation, as is the registration status of the UTV. Police are trying to determine if it had been registered as a street-legal special-purpose vehicle under the terms of Senate Bill 63.
