Marion's water distribution to continue indefinitely

The City of Marion reports that bottled water distribution will continue indefinitely during the ongoing water crisis.

Danielle Duncan, the city's water distribution coordinator, said that a number of people visiting the distribution site told them they had heard reports that water handouts would end this week.

Duncan said that is false information, and that the city has no plan to discontinue the handouts.  At some point when distribution is no longer deemed necessary, the city will provide ample notice of the change.

Distribution continues from 9 - noon and 2-6 pm on a Monday/Tuesday/Thursday/Friday rotation, according to residents' last names.

A special meeting of the Marion council Tuesday at 5pm will include updates on the water supply, and updates on Lake George and the Lucile mine.
