The National Weather Service in Paducah says we have a marginal risk of severe storms today.
Initial rounds of thunderstorms early in the morning should not reach severe levels, but some small hail may be possible. This batch of storms is more likely to occur along the I-64 corridor of southern Illinois.
Additional scattered thunderstorms may develop in the afternoon and evening. A few storms may be capable of producing large hail and damaging winds.
Clusters of strong to severe storms are mainly possible between 2 p.m. and 8 p.m., but there could be multiple rounds of storms throughout the day and night.
A slight risk of a tornado is possible, particularly over southeast Missouri and southern Illinois.
Saturday is very undefined so far, but could also see some severe storms.
