On Thursday, Paducah Police arrested a 20-year-old man on 149 charges related to child pornography after a months-long investigation.
Detectives launched an investigation in August of 2024 when they were alerted to Baucom’s suspicious activity via the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
Detectives said Maurice Baucom admitted to possessing explicit images and videos of minors, including content involving a 13-year-old girl he knew was underage and with whom he admitted to having an “online relationship.”
Detectives confirmed Baucom was the owner of a Google account containing sexually explicit content involving minors.
Detectives searched Baucom’s residence, his vehicle, and his phone. Baucom admitted to possession of child pornography when he was interviewed by investigators.
Baucom also admitted to having an online relationship with a 13-year-old female. Baucom told detectives he was aware the female was 13, and admitted that he saved explicit content of that minor to his phone.
Baucom was charged with 147 counts of promoting a sexual performance by a minor, and two other related charges.
Baucom was lodged at the McCracken County Regional Jail on a $50,000 cash bond.
