The Murray-Calloway County Hospital Board of Trustees Wednesday voted to reopen the process of finding a new CEO.
The Murray Ledger and Times reported Murray mayor Bob Rogers moved to charge the board with contacting the five candidates interviewed via Zoom last October that were not invited for an inperson interview.
He also recommended the search reopen from January 27-February 10 for those who wished to apply who didn't meet the earlier deadline to do so. Zoom interviews would be conducted February 11-14 but if there isn't qualified pool to interview for the full board and an applicant is not selected, a search firm would be considered.
The board announced last month Tonda Haigler from Montgomery, AL would accept the job, but she then declined their offer.
Current CEO Jerry Penner is set to retire in March but said he will stay on as needed while the board continues its search.
