MCCH Regional Cancer Center opens June 10

Murray-Calloway County Hospital's grand opening for its new Regional Cancer Center takes place Saturday, June 10, starting at 10 a.m. 

The $15 million center covers nearly 18,000 square feet. Tours will be available, starting at 9 a.m. 

Kentucky faces the highest rates of cancer incidence and death in America. It leads the country in lung cancer and colorectal cancer. 

The center will offer cancer detection, diagnosis, and care -- all under one roof. It will include radiation and medical oncology, infusion and chemotherapy services, and a state-of-the art linear accelorator. 

To staff the center, MCCH currently employs approximately 30 specialized clinicians. During the next several years, the system plans to hire additional employees.
