Lyon County project moves forward with state's assistance

The Eddyville Riverport and Industrial Development Authority received some good news Wednesday.

During his Team Kentucky Economic update, Governor Andy Beshear announced the group will receive over $560,000 to purchase 58 acres of land adjacent to the Eddyville Industrial Park that will support the development of additional rail served tracts. 

The acquisition of the property will allow for construction of a new rail spur parallel to the existing Paducah and Louisville Railroad and develop multiple smaller rail served sites. 

The funding came through the Kentucky Product Development Initiative.
