A Florida juvenile has been arrested in connection with August bomb threats in Murray, as well as false reporting of an incident and theft by deception.
According to the Murray Police Department, officers responded to a report on August 30th of an armed individual threatening harm to himself and others. Bomb threats toward the City of Murray were also made by the suspect.
The officers quickly determined the report was a swatting incident which involved a spoofed phone number and a fake call for service.
An investigation found that a 17-year-old juvenile from Boca Raton was the caller, and was extradited to Kentucky on Sunday, October 4th, to face the charges.
The Murray Police Department says they take these incidents seriously, and will charge anyone responsible for such actions.
They extend their appreciation to the Boca Raton Police Department for their assistance with the investigation.
