As flood victims in Tennessee and North Carolina begin to put their lives back together, they will of course receive aid from the Red Cross, FEMA and other national organizations.

But, as we learned in our area during the 2021 tornadoes, thousands of local collections will also take place around the country. In Paducah, one group is focusing on helping feed livestock and pets affected during the disaster.

This week, Local Laborers 1214 and local horse owners are taking in supply donations at their union hall to help flood victims with their horses, cattle, sheep, goats and also pets. Their efforts are in combination with the charity group Fleet of Angels, who are already on the ground in the affected areas.

They hope to fill as many trucks and trailers as possible to deliver supplies on Friday.

The union hall is located at 1415 South 3rd Street in Paducah. Donations can be dropped off between 7am and 3pm.
