An investigation by the Medicaid Fraud Unit of the Kentucky Attorney General's office resulted in the conviction of a Grand Rivers woman.
Daniel Cameron's office said that 34-year-old Sherry J. Boyd was convicted for defrauding the Kentucky Medical Assistance Program of over $16,000.
Boyd alledgedly submitted fraudulent timesheets for working with a juvenile Medicaid recipient as a Participant Directed Services employee. The timesheets were submitted to Four Rivers Behavioral Health, who billed Medicaid for those services.
Medicaid paid Boyd for services that investigators, later, determined were not provided. Investigators found that the time Boyd submitted overlapped with records from her other job.
Boyd pleaded guilty to the charge of devising or engaging in a scheme to defraud the Kentucky Medical Assistance Program, and entered a supervised pre-trial diversion program. Boyd's sentence was diverted for five years, and she was ordered to pay back the $16,025.06.
