A line of storms Thursday night brought down trees and power lines with wind gusts up to 60 miles an hour across southern Illinois into McCracken County.

The storms entered the region about 8 p.m. in Jackson County, Illinois where the National Weather Service got reports of trees snapped and power lines down near Gorham.

Several trees were reported down in Union County, including the town of Dongola.

By 9:30 p.m. in Massac County, a tree came down on Portland Road northwest of Joppa. Another tree fell across Highway 37 in Johnson County.

Crossing the Ohio River into McCracken County, power lines came down on Lightfoot Road, and a downed tree blocked Childress and Blandville Roads. Power was out for up to four hours in some western McCracken neighborhoods.
