The advancement of the US 60 improvement project in Ballard and McCracken counties will necessitate the permanent closure of the entrance of Queensway Drive off of US 60 in western McCracken County beginning Monday at 6 am.

The $23 million project will enhance safety and create better traffic flow by extending the existing 10.5 miles of four-lane, which stretches from I-24 Exit 4 in Paducah to the Ballard-McCracken County line, four additional miles into Ballard County.

The new roadway will rejoin existing US 60 just west of Kevil.

For the project to advance, it is necessary to permanently close the entrance to Queensway Drive, which is located just beyond the end of the existing four-lane section of highway. Motorists will still be able to access Queensway Drive by using Lester Harris Road and Mann Road.

The US 60 project is slated to continue until summer of 2026.
