LBL offers eagle viewing cruises in January

Friends of Land Between the Lakes will offer bald eagle viewing cruises and programs for the public beginning in January.

Kentucky Lake eagle viewing cruises will be hosted on the CQ Princess, a 96-foot, double-decker luxury yacht from January 14-17.

The cruises will depart from Kenlake Marina at Kenlake State Resort Park and include a hot catered meal and opportunities for great views of bald eagles.

Naturalists from the Woodlands Nature Station will be on board to help guests spot eagles and other wildlife. They will also share the inspiring story of the bald eagle's comeback from the brink of extinction in western Kentucky.

Reservations and full deposits will be required for all cruises. You can reserve your spot by calling 270-924-2020.

The following cruise times are available:

Friday, January 14, Brunch Cruise | 11 am-2 pm
Saturday, January 15, Brunch Cruise | 8:30-11:30 am
Saturday, January 15, Lunch Cruise | 1-4 pm
Sunday, January 16, Brunch Cruise | 11 am-2 pm
Monday, January 17, Lunch Cruise | 11 am-2 pm

In addition, eagle viewing programs will be available in January and February to explore favorite Land Between the Lakes bays, shorelines, and roosting spots of bald eagles. Naturalists will be available to help you spot eagles and other wildlife.

Eagle viewing programs will be available from 1-3 pm on the following dates:

Saturday, January 8 - Pisgah Point
Saturday, January 15 - Honker Lake
Sunday, January 16 - Smith Bay
Saturday, January 22 - Barkley Dam
Saturday, January 29 - Honker Lake
Saturday, February 5 - Kentucky Dam
