A Paducah woman was arrested Tuesday following an assault at a local business last week that left a local woman hospitalized.
Paducah Police said officers responded April 16 to a local business after receiving a report of an assault. Officers said the victim was walking out of the store, when an unknown person shoved her to the ground causing injuries to her shoulder and head. She was taken to a local hospital for treatment of her injuries. Officers were called back to the hospital after learning the injuries were more severe than originally believed.
Video surveillance at the business led detectives to identify the suspect as 23-year-old Lauren Weitlauf and a warrant was issued for her arrest. Weitlauf was located and arrested Tuesday in Hopkinsville by the Christian County Sheriff’s Department.
Weitlauf is being charged with 1st degree assault.
