Kevil man dies from injuries sustained in a Monday fire

A Kevil man has died from injuries he sustained in a fire on Monday night.

Ballard County Emergency Management said that the fire was reported in a camper along County Line Road just after 10 p.m. Monday. Responders found 73-year-old Mickey Beasley at the scene when they arrived. Beasleyhad serious injuries from the fire and was taken to a local hospital for treatment. Beasley passed away from those injuries on Wednesday.

According to Kevil Fire Chief Ronnie Rathman, the fire reportedly started inside the camper and was believed to be related to a heat source. The investigation into the fire is continuing.
