Dangerous cold remains on track to impact the area beginning Friday and continuing through Saturday. A Cold Weather Advisory or possibly an Extreme Cold Warning may be needed Friday night and Saturday morning.
Single-digit lows on Saturday and Sunday morning will also include the chance for negative wind chills.
Confidence is growing that we will see scattered snow showers as well, with the best chances Friday morning and again Saturday morning. We could see a light dusting of snow and brief reduced visibility, but right now we are not expecting travel impacts.
Highs around 40, close to normal for the beginning of February, could return next week, but so could our next chance of significant precipitation. Next Tuesday night through Wednesday night could bring a light wintry mix of snow, sleet, freezing rain, or just plain rain.
Light accumulations are possible, but it is too early to tell if there will be travel impacts.
