The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet has scheduled a public information meeting in Mayfield next month to update the public on planned improvements for the Rebuild Mayfield Project.
This project comes as we approach the fifth anniversary of the deadly EF-4 tornado that struck Graves County on December 10, 2021, leaving 24 people dead and more than 200 injured. It also heavily damaged or destroyed many buildings in Mayfield, especially the downtown area.
The meeting will be held Tuesday, Sept. 15 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the large community room at the Graves County Public Library. In the open house format, attendees can view various exhibits, talk to KYTC staff and project team members and ask questions about the project. There will be no formal presentation.
Comment sheets will be available for those who want to provide feedback on the project.
Comments also may be submitted by mail before Sept. 30 to Austin Hart, P.E., District 1 Project Manager, KYTC District 1 Office, 5501 Kentucky Dam Rd., Paducah, Kentucky 42003. Comments can be submitted by email to info@rebuildmayfield.com.
Following the public meeting, displays will be available for review at the KYTC District 1 Office in Paducah. Information will also be available online after the meeting at RebuildMayfield.com.
