Two vacant buildings went up in flames Sunday in Fulton and now three juveniles could face charges.

The Fulton Fire Department was called out Sunday after a fire broke out in a vacant home on Green Street. The home was fully engulfed when firefighters arrived, and the flames were threatening another vacant home next door. By the time firefighters got set up, the fire jumped to the neighboring structure. Both homes were a total loss. Two other nearby homes suffered heat damage, as well. One firefighter suffered some minor injuries.

Meanwhile, witnesses told Fulton Police that they saw three juveniles fleeing just before they saw the fire. That prompted police to launch an arson investigation. An unidentified man approached officers on the scene and told them that the juveniles were at his home. Detectives questioned the three and reportedly got a confession. In their statement, the juveniles said they set some paper towels on fire but had no intention of burning the buildings down.

The juveniles could face criminal charges including arson and felony criminal mischief.
