Investigators are seeking information after a train accident occurred in Caldwell County on Tuesday night.
The Caldwell County Sheriff's Office reported that Paducah and Louisville Railway called Pennyrile Central Dispatch to notify law enforcement of a collision involving one of their trains.
They said that as the train approached the intersection of Jones Keeney Road at Claxton, the engineer observed an obstruction on the tracks and attempted to stop. The train collided with a trailer loaded with scrap metal that had been abandoned on the tracks.
P&L officials worked with deputies to clear the tracks and roadway for safe passage. No injuries were reported.
