An investigation is underway following the death of an inmate at the McCracken County Regional Jail.
Jailer Stephen Carter told West Kentucky Star that Kentucky State Police have been called in to investigate the death of Brandon Bowman. Bowman, who entered the jail on July 29th, was in the fifth day of a seven-day sentence on contempt charges, according to Carter. He said that the preliminary investigation indicated Bowman’s death was the result of a medical incident. Per procedure, Bowman was taken by the McCracken County Coroner to the State Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy.
Carter said that KSP would lead the investigation and provide further updates in the case.
